Hoppy Lunar New Year!

Hay, there! It's me, Jeni—that one bunny lady who does architecture and also makes luxury furniture just for house rabbits. I’m emerging out of my cozy holiday burrow and reflecting on our accomplishments in the past year and beyond. I’m never sure how much to share when writing these updates. What’s too much? Too little? What’s too personal? Or even matter?

However as I learn more about myself and running a business, I find that the more thoughtfulness I put into what I do—whether that’s through designing products, creating Instagram posts, or even writing these blogs—it’s just easier for me to speak from the heart (and the outcome is usually better too 😉).

This year, I want to be more confident in putting myself out there and connecting with folks I’m meant to meet. I hope my letters and offerings reach kind-hearted bunny parents who appreciate when I can be “too much” or “too personal” on occasion. This is one of those times ♥️

Here’s a quick history of BINK:

2020 - The pandemic happens and I start to question everything. What brings me true happiness and meaning? One of my answers was my bunnies + designing things. Like a lot of people, I focused on making my home a cozy refuge from all of the noise, but the messy hay got in the way. So I decided to get to work on creating a special piece of furniture that would alleviate the chaos and elevate my connection with my house bunnies—a creative outlet turned into a passion. The concept of BINK is born!

2021 - With no business experience, I quit my career as an architectural designer / interior designer and bet on a dream. I dove deep into product development. Design iterations. Material research. Collaborating with a rabbit-savvy vet. Meeting with vendors. Fabrication iterations. Shipping logistics. Marketing. SEO. Instagram.

2022 - We launched a successful Kickstarter and nearly raised 3x our goal! All organically promoted on social media and cold reaching out to publications like Dwell, Design Milk, Apartment Therapy, and others. No ads. This was proof of concept! Proof that bunny people are out there, who are tired of the mess, and want to make bunnies seamlessly blend into their everyday life too! All thanks to our community of dedicated bunny lovers, we were able to craft our very first pieces and elevate our first customers' bun-homes.

2023 - We officially launched our website and released our furniture to the public. We hosted a giveaway and with our community's help, we raised over a whopping $5k for bunnies in need! A few months later, we even sold out of our luxury bunny furniture! But around the same time, we also made the tough decision to pause production—I was crushed by this news. But didn't give up. We kept the dream alive and introduced other bunny-centric products including a LIVE online course/community and Bunny & Me Stoneware.

2024 - We gained new insights, more resources, and made meaningful connections with kind-hearted souls that helped us refocus (you know who you are—thank you so much for your care and willingness to see us succeed). We brought our furniture BACK!

Year after year, with every order, we’ve made an impact together—donating to bunny rescues we love, like the House Rabbit Society and Rabbit Advocates.

I’m so so incredibly proud and grateful for how far we’ve come to date. Looking ahead to 2025, I’m excited for another small-batch run of our luxury furniture, new smaller products on the horizon, and the launch of custom inquiries!

It’s been an absolute dream to grow this small bunny biz these past few years. Truly such a dream. I've learned SO much over these last few years. So many ups and downs—high highs and really low lows. I've had my heart broken by failed attempts at building our prototypes and challenges with fabrication partners, several times over. On the flip side, I've also experienced the most life-affirming connections from bunny lovers across the globe who just get it.

BINK has grown a bit each year, despite the ups and downs. Each year I grow a little wiser and step into a stronger version of me that's more capable than I thought I could ever be. I’m looking forward to sustainably growing this bunny biz in 2025 and finding out what new things I'll learn and new people I'll meet. Thank you so much for reading the ramblings of a rabbit lady and cheering us on as we grow this bunny biz. I can’t wait to share more with you and connect! Here's to the best year yet!

Cheers!
